Join Living Meadows residents, families, and the entire Madelia community to enjoy an afternoon of fun, nostalgia, and community spirit at the Living Meadows Fair & Petting Zoo on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the front lawn of Living Meadows.
This free family friendly event is designed to bring the excitement and tradition of a county fair directly to Living Meadows residents while creating meaningful opportunities for community connection across generations.
The afternoon will feature a variety of attractions and activities for all ages, including:
The event is being held in partnership with the Riverdale Rockets 4-H Club of Watonwan County and will especially encourage youth and families to participate in this celebration of community, agriculture, and fun.
“This event is about creating joyful moments and bringing people together,” said Living Meadows Administrator Tom Goeritz. “Many of our residents have wonderful memories of attending county fairs throughout their lives. We are excited to recreate that experience while welcoming families and community members to share in the fun together.”
Living Meadows hopes the event will provide residents with meaningful engagement and allow families and community members to create new memories together in a festive, welcoming atmosphere.
The Living Meadows Fair & Petting Zoo is free and open to the public.

Living Meadows is launching Life Threads, a volunteer program rooted in faith, compassion, and community.
We believe that every act of service weaves connection, purpose, and joy into the lives of our residents — and into the hearts of those who serve. Whether you’re offering time, talents, or simply your presence, you’re part of something meaningful.

We work to help our residents to live their best life each day. Enjoyable activities, caring staff and great meals are a few of the ways we work to achieve this goal. We have redesigned the nursing home of 60 years ago to better care for our individual clients.

Living Meadows offers both long-term and short-term rehabilitative care with a return home. We customize the care plans to meet and exceed the needs of our residents and there families. Click the link below for a full list of services.

Our care team is what sets Living Meadows apart from other care communities. Our team is caring, compassionate and understands that each life matters. If you are interested in joining our team click to find current openings.
